a few

Grades:
Adopt
a
School

Support CDI programs for a whole school for an
entire
year.
Impacting
over
a
hundred
students
and
all
classroom
teachers
directly,
CDI
also
touches
the
larger
student
body
and
local
community
through
a
mid-point
and
culminating
performance
with
audience
participation.
CDI
gives
children
a
basic
understanding
of
the
fundamentals
of
movement,
rhythm
and
music
in
structured,
energetic
dance
classes
with
live
musical
accompaniment
for
20-25
weeks
in
each
school.
The
program
is
unique
in
the
arts
education
world
because
its
focus
is
not
on
achieving
mastery
of a
particular
dance
form,
but
rather
on
striving
for
excellence
in
life.

weekly
classes
are
designed
to
challenge
students
to
realize
their
physical
and
creative
potential.

Summer
Camp
-

Your gift can brighten up the summer for under-served
Los
Angeles
youth!
CDI
holds
a
two-week
summer
camp
in
June,
where
children
have
classes
in
the
standard
CDI
repertoire,
along
with
other
dance
forms,
acting
improvisation
and
music.
With
open
admission,
all
children
are
welcome,
including
those
who
have
not
previously
experienced
CDI.
Tuition
is
on a
sliding
scale,
allowing
children
from
all
financial
backgrounds
enjoy
a
dynamic
and
engaging
summer
camp.
By
Funding
the
CDI
Summer
Camp
you
provide
a
week
of
intensive
exercise
and
joy
for
35
children.
Jacques d'Amboise Legacy Award: Master Teacher Workshop - $10,000
CDI’s ever-enhancing quality of teaching is due to their devotion to staff development. Twice a year CDI hosts teacher training and professional development for its artistic staff through week-long workshops with a National Dance Institute Master Teaching Artist – a professional dancer who has taught with NDI for over 15 years. At each workshop, the Master Teaching Artist hones CDI’s teaching skills and classroom techniques, and assists with developing child-friendly choreography for the Event of the Year production. Your gift funds a NDI master teacher and all of CDI artistic staff during this bi-annual intensive one-week workshop.
