| “The dance program was very very fun and active. I learned that sometimes things can be very hard and a little embarrassing, but end up to be some the best things in the world.” -Alejandro, Grade 4 |

CDI’s athletic, high energy dance style, appeals to boys and girls alike. Our child-friendly choreography has been carefully tailored to allow all children, including those with special needs, to experience success. CDI programs are unique because they focus not on mastering a particular dance form, but on striving for excellence.
In-School Program: Our program runs for 20-25 weeks during school hours, sending the message that the arts are as important as social studies, math, and science. Each class is taught by a team of teaching artists and a live musician trained in the NDI methodology. Students share their hard work and creativity at a mid-point assembly and at culmination performances for the entire student body, parents, school administration, and the larger community.
After-School Program: Students from each school who exhibit particular enthusiasm and commitment are invited to join our after-school Super Wonderful Advanced Team (SWAT). SWAT meets every week to learn more advanced steps and choreography. Advanced SWAT members may graduate to our after-school Celebration Team. Both of these teams perform in community events throughout the year, including the Event of the Year.
Summer Camp: Children experience a variety of dance styles, improvisation and art projects. The summer students wow audiences with their performance at the Venice Eco-fest, an annual ecologically-themed free festival held in June at the Venice Beach Boardwalk, sponsored by Earth Day L.A. and the Venice Chamber of Commerce.
